Social Solutions is searching for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Baltimore, MD Headquarters location.

Responsibilities of this position will include:

-Serve as business partner to the CEO and COO, assist in creating and monitoring business strategy, and create the team and metrics to manage execution against strategy.
-Create a vision for financial operations and managing the progress of the team against key benchmarks.
-Develop usable financial models for local and consolidated operations.
-Lead revenue, expense, and headcount forecasting.

Day to Duties will include, but not be limited to:

-Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
-Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
-Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
-Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data.
-Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
-Communicates effectively with lenders and equity providers in obtaining financing and in reporting on conformity to covenants
-Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
-Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
-Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualified candidates will possess the following Skills/Qualifications:

-Candidates must be comfortable in a start-up environment; Excel Modeling, Managing Processes, Developing Standards, Audit, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Tracking Budget Expenses, Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Performance Management, etc.
-Venture Financing & Software Company; Billing and A/R experience a strong plus. CPA Preferred.

Sales & Account Management Trainee

We are advertising for 2 Trainees / Interns to join our Inside Sales Team. These individuals will start as Temporary, Part-time employees for a 90 day period. These Trainees will work closely with the Inside Sales and Account management Teams and in the broader scope will support all of Sales & Marketing in our efforts to promote ETO Software in the marketplace.

The Trainee positions will be hourly positions, and will require 20 to 25 hours per week commitment, Monday to Friday during traditional business hours, during the 90 day Temporary period. After 90 days performance will be evaluated and options for continued Part-time, or possible Full-time employment and compensation details will be discussed at that time.

Following are the day-to-day duties and responsibilities handled by our Inside Sales and Account Management personnel. Trainees will be expected to contribute in these types of Sales & Marketing business activities.

Account Management Objectives/Tasks:

  • Proactive Support and Education of our clients
  • Annual account reviews-For all assigned accounts
  • Comprehensive understanding of entire client population
  • Identification of key players, establish access and credibility
  • Optimization of ETO – what is the client’s perceived value
  • Identification of net new programs, sites and services opportunities
  • Organize and pursue new opportunities
  • Team with local SSI Sales Directors for opportunities greater than 20k in Annual Recurring Revenue
  • Handle and process orders from clients (Account feature Adds, new programs/sites)

Description:

The Sales Operations Associate is a critical position at Social Solutions. The Sales Operations Associate supports the Sales and Marketing Teams in their ongoing efforts to sell and promote ETO Software®. The position requires a variety of skills including, but not limited to:

  • Proposal, contract, RFP and Scope of Work preparation and delivery
  • Database management, processing and assigning leads from campaigns, handling in-bound inquiries and forwarding to the appropriate sales resource
  • Generate follow-up correspondence in addition to general sales and marketing administrative support

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university, ideally in Marketing or Business Administration preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication, client management and problem solving skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills as evidenced in the meeting of all deadlines
  • Previous experience administratively supporting sales and marketing teams
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience working with Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and Statements of Work (SOW’s)

I was part of the #LinkedHR 1,000 member Webinar today, and one of the hot topics was “Using Social Media sites for Recruiting, Reference Checks, or Background Checks”. (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

The above linked article does a great job of listing some of the dangers Employers may face in the future if their hiring practices are audited.

A comment by “mattonen” at the bottom of the above referenced article provides the following link to the EEOC website specifically dealing with the issue of using Social Networks for Recruiting purposes.

I am currently studying for my PHR certification, and discriminatory hiring practices are a focus and a serious topic in the studies. From the comments of other Recruiters, and some in HR, it appears the Regulators are taking the approach that an Employer will be “guilty until proven innocent” if they are utilizing Social Media Sites for recruiting, reference checking, or “informal” background checks. It is obvious why they are taking this approach, but it is just as obvious that many other methods of recruiting and reference checking can be equally discriminatory. As 1 Recruiter friend stated: “I think people are making too big of a deal out of [Social Media Recruiting] … [there's] no difference between it and a cocktail party.” In other words, if a Recruiter wants to “see” the person before they are presented to a job opportunity, they can check their Facebook Page, or arrange a happy hour!

Most Staffing Companies require job applicants to visit the local Recruiting office for a “mock” interview with a Recruiter. In theory this seems perfectly fine; before working with an applicant you want to make sure they can follow directions and show up on time, prepared for an interview. To follow the Regulators line of thinking, though, this could be a discriminatory hiring practice.

Like many Recruiters, I am hoping that Social Media Sites continue to grow in popularity. There are many benefits for the Jobseeker and the Recruiter. The emphasis for Recruiters, HR Professionals, and Business owners, will be to track all sources of applicants and use Social Media Sites as one part of a balanced and diverse recruiting and hiring strategy.

The Director of Federal Sales will be responsible for driving sales opportunities and managing federal government channel partners. You will be working to research, access, educate and create awareness and demand for ETO Software through existing and new Social Solutions partnerships (established by you) targeting initiatives within the following government agencies:

This position will be held accountable for helping achieve specific direct sales revenue goals as well as perform agreed upon major business objectives designed to further company wide business goals. This position will report to the SVP of Sales and Marketing.

Responsibilities:

Conducting sales presentations and demonstrations for existing and potential customers as well as partners.

Management of the channel relationship with all targeted channel customers and prospects during the sales process. This includes maintaining relationship with contacts within the customer and channel partner, keeping account information up to date in the CRM system, and attendance at all sales and management meetings regarding the customer.

Detailing/presenting product features, operation, support services and outlining the resulting value propositions to customer/partner.

Coordinating the response to RFP/RFI/RFQs.

Developing and updating strategic sales plans to describe the process plan and progress against objectives.

Providing detailed, timely customer feedback and status on progress of strategic sales efforts.

Achievement of an annual quota target that is set based upon corporate criteria combined with business potential of the target area.

Required Skills and Experience:

Previous Sales experience (seeking 5-10 years minimum) for a systems supplier, defense contractor, data network vendor, service provider or network security company including both presentation and hands-on channel/account management responsibilities.

Proven track record of selling and consulting with Federal Government channels and customers in their pursuit of software and database systems.

Previous experience successfully responding to RFIs, RFPs, RFQs to Federal Government customers and/or data service/hosting providers.  Excellent communication skills and familiarity with computer tools, such as MS Powerpoint, Excel, MS Word.

  • Will develop front-end queries and reports based on client specifications.

Position Overview:

Manage the complete delivery lifecycle of the software implementation project, communicating with clients and SSI resources and achieving both client and SSI objectives.

Description:

The Engagement Manager is a critical position at Social Solutions, and requires a variety of skills including, but not limited to:

  • The ability to deal with people and personality types and adapt accordingly;
  • The ability to analyze large amounts of data and quickly drill into details pertinent to an implementation without losing focus on the bigger picture of the implementation;
  • The ability to synthesize large amounts of data about a particular organization and the programs it runs, and to clearly write documents that articulate that understanding;
  • The ability to prepare customers for a project that will require accountability on both sides and the willingness to have difficult conversations with customers to ensure the project stays on track;
  • The ability to sense when there is a “red flag” in the relationship or project and to inform supervisors accordingly.
  • The Engagement Manager oversees all elements of the implementation including financial management of resources and the overall timeline of the project.

Requirements:

  • BS or BA degree from an accredited university, ideally in Computer Science and/ or Business Administration preferred, but not required.
  • Formal project management education and / or PMP certification desirable.
  • Strong communication, client management and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of data conversion approaches and data quality standards.
  • Strong time management skills as evidenced in the meeting of all deadlines.
  • The willingness and ability to travel up to 3 days per week anywhere in the United States and Canada to connect with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell ETO Software to human service agencies within a particular region for use of project based initiatives and/or long-term strategic investments in their infrastructure
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, including partnership development and maintenance, and referral development and maintenance
  • Develop leads through networking in professional organizations, attending conference, and community involvement
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on the ETO Software (Training Provided)

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • Demonstrated 5+ years of sales experience, including selling SaaS in recent years.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment; Team Leadership skills strongly considered.
  • Exceptional communication and public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated Sales / Client Pipeline management and a history of goal achievement.
  • Knowledge of, or experience working in, the Non-Profit / Human Services sector preferred.

Compensation:
